Answer:
Ask a dentist or someone that works in a pharmacy about the best treatment for teeth whitening. Beyond that, there are plenty of products in pretty much any grocery store or Wallgreens' that will give you the results you want.
You need to stop smoking and drinking tea or coffee to prevent new stains. There are plenty of over-the-counter whiteners. However, most of them work by using abrasives that remove the very top layer of stained enamel. This is a temporary solution, and what then happens is that the teeth stain again - this time, deeper into the tooth than the original problem. If you want to whiten your teeth, the most effective way is to have them done by a dentist using one of the latest laser technologies. This can be quite expensive! If you are really on a budget, you may want to consider having the proceedure done in another country. For example, instead of having it done in London, you may want to consider going to Poland, or Spain, or any of the Eastern European countries to have it done at a fraction of the cost.
Change your dentist and see if it works if not there is a commerical with a tooth whitening porduct where you appy a paste followed by a special light. Its supposed to work
LOOK UP TOOTH WHITENING ON THE NET but remeber there are a lot of sharks in the internet sea.
Go to another dentist, there are different teeth whitening methods.
Buy yourself one of the latest sonic toothbrushes and use a whitening tooth paste. Used in conjuction with each other this really does work as long as you brush at least twice a day and for at least two minutes each time.
Its good advice to reduce the coffee and tea intake too.
Brush with baking soda, or a crushed strawberry...
My teeth were terrible (I used to smoke, drink tea and coke and red wine) I have been using colgate whitening for a few years now and although my teeth aren't white, they have certainly improved loads. (This was before I gave up smoking too) Good luck.
Topal toothpaste for smokers works very well with tabacco, coffee and tea stains and it only costs a couple of bucks a tube.
My husband and i both smoke and drink coffee, We have tried everything to whiten our teeth.
We use Crest Whitestrips.
You can really tell a differance after 3 - 4 times of useing them.Give them a try ....Good luck!
Have you let your dentist know that you would like your teeth whitened? Polishing makes them feel great but doesn't do a whole lot on the whitening front.Things you can do to whiten them are to cut back on the smoking. Get a battery operated toothbrush (Crest makes one for under $5 USD) and brush twice daily for at least 2 minutes each time. Follow the brushing with a good mouthwash. You may also want to try brushing with pure baking soda. Just be sure to follow with brushing with regular toothpaste.Good luck %26 keep smiling! : )
You need to do multiple things...Get a white colored tooth paste, as it has the correct abrasive composition.Get a good battery operated tooth brush, preferably OralBRinse out your mouth after Tea/coffeeUse a baking Soda based chewing gum. It has whitening characteristics.WARNING: you must remember that the dentist is actually grinding away valuable enamel every time he grinds/polishes your teeth. It's dangerous when done incorrectly, and makes your teeth more prone to discoloring.Hope that helps...:)
I have the same problem too. When i was younger smoking didn't stain my teeth. Now i am older it does. Its almost impossible to get rid of the stains with a normal toothpaste, even if you do use an electric brush. You need a smokers toothpaste or power or a home whitening kit. These do though, as someone said, make your teeth more prone to staining in the long run. The only real solution is to give up the ciggies!Having a clean at the dentist should get rid of the stains. If you are not finding that it does, then point out the particular areas to the dentist - it may be that some of the staining is actually within your teeth.Good luck.
I'm a former smoker and coffee addict. I use the crest white strips and it works everytime. Three years and counting. The Renewal and the Classic line worked for me. But the Premium didn't. Two boxes and no diff. But everyone's diff. Another way is to use Sonicare. It whitened my teeth so well that my dentistsaid I didn't even need whitening. But, you have to be super gentle or it can damage your gums and teeth. I did and now I can't use it anymore. Or you can get a professional whitening from your dentist. Trays are the best because you can just buy the refills and do them at home. The laser whitenings are great but it's one time and if the stains return next year, you have to do it again. But the results are immediate. Good luck!
I used crest dental strips. I got them from Ebay. I had a colgate white smile the first time I used them. Although the results havent lasted 18 months as it said they would. But they are still whiter than before. I will use them again.
Go to a hygienist, it's their job to clean and get rid of stain on your teeth, then look into whitening, but dietry factors contribute to stain
