Is it just brushing more at the gum line, flossing, and mouth wash? Or are there other things I should do to speed up the process?
Thanks!
Answer:
Avoiding gingivitis is all about brushing the germs off your teeth, tongue and gums and keeping them off for as long as possible. The less your teeth and gums are exposed to those germs, the less likely you will develop gingivitis and tooth decay. These germs manifest themselves as this sticky white film or mass that accumulates along your gumlines and in the spaces between your teeth, and they grow on the food debris on your teeth after meals. The longer they stay on your teeth, the more damage they are doing. That means you need to brush after every meal and before bed, not at random times through the day. And you need to do it thoroughly. The bacterial plaque also hardens into tartar, which you cannot brush off. That's why you need to visit the dentist every 6 months for a cleaning. If you already have tartar that is causing gingivitis, there is nothing you can do at home to make that better-- A dentist or hygienist has to scrape it off for you.Hope this helps.

Although you may find that this does not work, I used cinnamon oil on my gums and that cleared up my gingivitis in about 2 months. You will have to get an organic, food grade cinnamon oil that is pure. You will not want to use it straight from the bottle - it will be too strong - so mix it with some organic olive oil. It will not taste good - so be warned. This was something I tried as a last ditch effort. Now, my teeth and gums are healthy and I keep them that way. I used this method about 10 years ago and have had no problems since.Like I said, it may not work for you - but it might be worth a shot.
All three, brush for two minutes, two times a day with electric toothbrush, floss once and day, and mouthwash twice. Brush with regular toothbrush after lunch, and always rinse your mouth after you eat.
The only cure for gingivitis is good oral hygiene. Regular brushing to include all surfaces of teeth, the gums tongue and roof of mouth . This needs to be done a minimum of 2 times a day flossing correctly once a day. Mouthwash can help as well as good nutrition. If bleeding occurs do not discontinue this means to brush more and better, eventually your mouth will become healthier, gingivitis did not occur overnight neither will the cure.
Well first you for sure want to be sure gingivitis is what you have. At the stage of gingivitis it is reversible but once you have periodontal disease you can not fix it only mantain it.If you have been diagnosed with gingivitis then start with a profession cleaning. Only the Dr or hygienest can remove the tatar accumulated under the gums and on the teeth.Next is home care. Be sure to brush for a full two minutes two to three times a day. Then be sure to to floss before you go to bed . Make sure when you floss that you floss in between every tooth and also floss correctly. Get right down under the gum and hug each tooth in a C shape and pull the floss up. Dont be afraid if your gums bleed that's the sign that you are doing a good job and after a few weeks they should stop bleeding. Also be sure you're brushing your tounge for a good 10 seconds at least. A lot of the bacteria in your mouth is on the tounge. Then follow with some mouth rinse. If your teeth are sensitive or prone to cavities use something like act which has flouride in it to prevent cavites and strengthen enamel. Good luck to you! One you do the routine for a while it will become and habit and it will bother you to not do it.
