How do braces get put on? Do they hurt??

I'm getting braces on June 12 and I need to know how the dentist puts them on. I would also like to know if they hurt. Thanks!
Answer:
The dentist attaches the brackets to your teeth with dental cement then fixes these to the wire arch. They don't hurt while they are being put on but they can be painful in the following days when your teeth are readjusting to the forces placed on them by it.
unless things have changed in the last few years. they use a special cement to attach the brackets to your teeth. honestly yes they hurt, alot! might be helpfull to take a couple fo tylenol before you go. and have some on hand all day. that was enough to take care of my pain.
it is worth it in the end, and dont forget to brush alot and do what the orthdontest says.
it hurts a little b/c they put this strechy thing on your mouth b/c they need to get to your teeth better and they dry your teeth off and put this adhesive stuff on..but its not the glue..its just a protective sealant on your teeth, then they use this little heat gun to activate that stuff and then they start putting cement and brackets on... the dr. puts pressure on your teeth when he puts the brackets on but it will be a little painful then here comes the hard part...the wire..it hurts a little..but then they put the rubber bands on..this is a painful part also but youll be okay!! youll get sores on your inner lips..so get some extra wax...it will help
good luck!
they cement little peices of metal to your teeth, it hurts for like 3 days or so when they tighten them periodicly, and if you get hit in the mouth at all expect it to bleed, i still have scars on the inside of my mouth from 10 years ago...
