How can i stop sucking my thumb?

i'm 13 years old AND I CAN"T STOP SICKING MY THUMB%26gt;%26gt;%26gt;this thumb sucking habit of mine ..has made my teeth really bad..and it's unfortunate that it could have been prevented..how can i stop sucking my thumb permanetly?
Answer:
Umm... well... self-control... you have to have self-control to get any habit, good or bad, under control.
You could:
Talk to your dentist, who may have helpful suggestions and who can also explain the dental consequences and options for treatment.
You could keep your hands busy.
Pretend someone is always watching you %26 you probably won't do it. (that sounds dumb, but it just may work)
Learn some other Relaxation Techniques. You probably do it in the first place to soothe yourself, right? Out of habit? Well, just find some other ways to relax yourself. Breathing out of your mouth %26 in your nose very deeply, for instance.Read the 2nd link for another teen that still sucked their thumb:
dip it in something that tastes really gross for a really long time so whenever you start sucking your thumb it will taste bad
put something yucky tasting on it before you go to bed
go see your dentist, he can fit you with a device that is wired into the top of your mouth that makes it impossible to suck your thumb. It's a little expensive, but well worth it.
There's a product called Thum (yes, this is how it's spelled). You paint it on your thumb like nail polish and it has a really gross taste, but is non-toxic.
this will help my dad did this for my brothers . put something hot on your thumber every time you feel like you going to suck you thumb that will work.
Sucking your thumb is a habit, which just makes you human. If you want to stop, you have to override it and get it mentally out of your head. The products that were listed can help you but it won't be as effective as driving it out. Something that is very important is to keep telling yourself not to suck on your thumb. Think of it like smoking, it can seriously harm you. By the looks of it, your teeth have already suffered from thumb sucking. All you have to do is stop, chewing gum may help a little since your mouth is already occupied with the chewing.
I had a patient that put fake nails on her fingers, which makes it nearly impossible to suck your thumb, plus it looks pretty.
maybe u cood put something yucky on it. but u need to stop or yuor teeth will stick out
