Helpppppppp?? Need help with dental issuses?

today i have to go and see if i have to get a retainer again!
My last one i got was a perniment one and i was wondering if i can just get a non pernament one so i can take it out every so often.i had a under bight. so can i get a non purnemnt one?
Answer:
There are advantages and disadvantages to "permanent" and "non-permanent" or removable retainers. Remember, retainers are to retain teeth. If your teeth are crooked a retainer will retain them in a crooked location. Obviously you need to consult with your dentist/orthodontist about the appropriate retainer for you but with my patients I prefer a removable retainer if the patient is compliant and a fixed or permanent retainer when compliance is an issue. It is usually adequate to wear a removable retainer only while you sleep in order to keep your teeth straight.
