Answer:
If you know yourself that you have bad teeth, then no kind of toothpaste and certainly, no advice from this community is going to take the place of.ok, you didn't want to hear this...but,
going to the dentist.Does your college have a Dental School?
(or one close by?)
They could always use "real live" classroom aids and might not charge you anything or, at least very little.
toothpaste reccomendations? i am confused at what you are trying to "mask". if you are asking if anything can mask a really bad looking cavity... no there isnt anything... the cavity will continue to get worse and decay more until you have a large black hole in your tooth and then you will have to get it pulled so the infection doesnt get into your blood stream (that and to get of the severe pain that would go along with a huge cavity)... if you are saying they are badly stained, well, a good bleaching toothpaste would help... you might try really looking around though for a dentist college or someone who would take payment plans... otherwise beg or borrow from someone... otherwise you will end up needing a $1500 set of dentures later on...(personal experience)... ask at your counselors office at college or if you know your area well, call a dentist in the worst part of town you know of... those dentists tend to have the lowest prices... you would be surprised at how much cost can change from office to office... one office i went to said to get all of the work done i need, it was going to cost $22,000.00. i went to a different dentist and they are getting all the work done for only $3,000. Different dentists believe different things too.. the first dentist said the 'only way to go' was dental implants and all ceramic crowns on what was left... the second dentist (in a worse neighboorhood) was going to fix as much as he could with fillings, said only 4 really needed crowns and the ones in the back could have metal crowns (metal ones are cheaper than ceramic - unless you choose gold as the metal) so i only needed one ceramic and a partial... yeah, it kind of bites being 35 and needing a partial denture, but i can afford it, i cant afford dental implants and a mouthful of ceramic
try to find a dental student (not in your school of course) who needs a patient and ask him or her for a free treatmenti'm a dental student and sometimes we desperately need patient
Exactly what is it about being a college kid that would cause you to have bad teeth? It sounds like you may have allowed your oral hygiene practices to suffer. You are in luck though because regular brushing and flossing can go a long way in treating and preventing mild gingivitis and bad breath. As far as choosing a toothpaste, choose one that you like the flavor and texture of...this will make you more likely to brush than one that tastes bad to you. Make sure to floss daily, again choose a flavor and thickness that you like. You can also choose to use a mouth rinse, my personal choice and recommendation is Listerine. Make sure that the dental products that you choose have the ADA seal on them. This will help to ensure that your toothpaste has adequate fluoride and your toothbrush is constructed well for use in your mouth. Listerine has the seal.Make sure to brush your gums and your tongue at least once a day 2-3 times would be even better. You would be wise to be careful with sugary foods and drinks...I'm not going to say don't ever have them, just consume in moderation and consider brushing and flossing following consumption.Good luck in school and getting back on track with good oral hygiene.
