Help!! I need help!?

I am going to the dentist in a few days and I am going to get a filling i want to know in there anething that will help it not hert so much or not at all PLZ HELP!
Answer:
They will give you a flavored paste to put at the site of the injection which is novacane. You will feel no pain.
just some medicince that the dentist can give you, perhaps you can take a pain reliever about 20 minutes before you get the filing
ask them to give u laughing gas or give u a needle that makes ur gums numb. I no that sounds scary, but it doesn't hurt. Just feels like a light pinch.
Fillings really aren't painful. Try taking Tylenol before you go that should take care of any discomfort you have.
that's OK..just relax..you will get use to it,OK. If u don't go to the dentist, your teeth will suffered!!u don't want that to be happen..
A filling is a walk in the park! They will numb it before they drill. and then once it's been filled, your fine. Your mouth may be a little swollen just from the dentist stretching your mouth open wider, but thats nothing Tyleno won't fix. Relax! You'll do great.
dentist normally provide anesthesia.. u should have nothing to worry about. if they put enough u shouldn't feel anything.
I sympathize - I'm deathly afraid of the dentist. They will inject novacaine into the gums around the tooth so you don't feel the drilling. They will also apply some benzocaine at the injection site so you shouldn't feel the shot. Some will even let you wear headphones so you don't hear the drill (that's almost the worst part for me!)Explain to them how frightened you are. They can prescribe a valium tablet to take about an hour before (you will need to get a ride to the office) or they can give you nitrous oxide. There are also some dentist offices that offer total sedation now. If you need a lot of work done, they can do it all while you are unconscious.
Getting a filling is not a painful process, but it isn't comfortable. First you will recieve local aneastethic around the tooth to get the filling. This isn't painful but I found it uncomfortable, as most people do with needles. It will take maybe 10-20 minutes to set in so you will have to wait, when you come back for the filling the dentist will start out wit hthe worst part, the drilling. He will drill out the cavity to remove any damaged parts of the tooth. I'm no dentist but I think this is to prevent further expansion of the cavity (like an infection). This isn't painful, but the noise and the fact you know whats going on wont make this easy. It wont take very long and once he's finished he will start to fill the cavity. This just feels like a putty like substance getting stuffed into the whole, it wont hurt but he will push it down hard. Afterwards they use some thing which I don't honestly know what it does exactly, but I assume it dries out the filling material. After this you are all done and will rinse your mouth out. Your numbness will go away in an hour or so, watch out for chewing your tounge and lips when its numb I do it often!Overall its not a good experience, but you can get through it. I often stare at something on the ceiling during the dentist to keep my mind of it, as its your own imagination that affects you. Theres no pain you just imagine that its painful. If you are the type who can't keep calm during dental surgery, you can be offered 'laughing gas' which will make the operation a whole lot more entertaining! I've not received Nitrous before but my brother and sister have and both actually enjoyed it!Don't worry too much about it, it's a very fast procedure and wont hurt you. And in the long run you wont get tooth ache on that tooth any more.
Grin and bear it, after the anesthetic shots you won't feel a thing. The pain of not doing anything to get your tooth filled will be even worse.
Relax it shouldn't be that bad the only thing they will place is topical which is like a paste that will numb your gums and make it easier for the injection. So that it doesn't hurt as much. It will be numb and you shouldn't feel a thing. maybe just a tingle. Try not to think so hard about it. It's going to be OK. Maybe just a little swore after the procedure is done but nothing that some Tylenol won't fix. Hope this helps calm your nerves a bit.
