Help!My girlfriend has severe cronic bad breath.?

She has great oral hygiene and chews gum regularly to no avail. As far as I can tell it has nothing to do with diet. It's having a very negative effect on our relationship as I can't stand to be within 3 feet of her... It's really that bad. Anyone know any tricks, or have any idea what the cause may be?
Answer:
Bad breath is normally due to the bacteria at work. Rinsing 1 time a day with hydrogen peroxide can help decrease the bacteria. Be sure to brush tongue really good b/c this is where the bacteria usually hide. Sugarless gum only, gum w/ sugar will make it worse. Listerine strips can help. The key w/ the peroxide is do it at night normally or morning after she brushes and flosses, swish, spit, do not rinse, eat, or drink for 30 minutes so it can work and kill the extra bacteria. Taste bad, but its cheap and it works and it is good for your gums.
Gum makes it worse. It gets the salivary glands going causing your breath to smell a tad rotten.
my girl tells me i stink too..perhaps it is my meds.
sugarless mints/gum only. she needs to see the dentist. it has to be something. chewing parsley helps.
She really should be checked out by the Dr, there could be a medical problem/concern and the bad breath is a symptom. The good news is if there is a medical problem then there will be a solution, so have her go to the Dr.
I don't blame you. It also depends on what she eats. If she eats a lot of onions and garlic, or anything that has a strong smell, the problem is worse. If it's not what she eats, it's probably a bacterial infection that causes that problem. Go see a dentist with her. They may have some treatment available.
Best to see a dentist. It could be tooth decay or gum disease. For now, use a tongue scraper. Brush tongue, roof of mouth, cheeks. Avoid mouth washes with too much alcohol, it dries some people's mouth and causes bad breath to return. If she smokes or drinks coffee, ask her brush/rinse after. Does she have dry mouth? I use Biotene mouthwash but they also have a toothpaste. It helps a lot. Good luck!
She might need a teeth cleaning. Even when you brush regularly, some people have heavy tartar build up and the gum can get affected. Only a dentist will be able to give you sound advice and treatment.
Bad breath is caused often because you haven't brushed and flossed well .If you don't keep teeth and gums free of the bacterial buildup, they'll start to cause odor as the bacteria rot leftover food particles in your mouth. A few seeds of cardamom chewed for a brief while will clear your mouth of bad breath. Chew parsley leaves, which are sure to keep your breath fresh. buy her a tongue scraper tell her to brush her teeth 3 times a day floss twice a day and use mouthwash
Her whole system may could use a good scouring. Tell her to buy a large bottle of 'Phillips Milk of Magnesia Tablets' and take 6-10 tablets.. by either chewing them up (they taste like mint flavored chalk... yukky yukky yuk) or swallowing them with water.. at night before bed. She might ought to take them on a night when she can stay around the house the next day.. if you know what I mean. This process should be repeated once per week for about a month. For real.. if a person's system gets constipated.. it can cause bad breath. Also, the peroxide idea is a good one.. and flossing before brushing is very important.. and she should always brush her tongue until it's pristine. If the problem persists, see a dentist or doctor.
