How do I tell a co-worker he smells bad?
It's not B.O., I think it comes from his mouth. I hate to mention it cuz it will hurt his feelings but sometimes the whole office stinks
Answer:
hm... there is only one thing to do...
fart!
fart beside him, and when he complains about the smell, you just laugh and tell him, well but you are yourself also ohooohohooo...
You don't. Chew gum or mints and offer him some. Leave anonymous gifts for them.
offer him gum
Anonymously put a toothbrush on his desk!
Leave mints on his desk.
ohh wow umm give him some gum are mint or somethin
Just leave an anonymous pack of tic tacs or some other breath freshener on his desk, don't say anything directly, I think he'll get the message.
He probably knows. Just hint it by moving away when he speaks to you.
If you must, tell him in a straight forward manner and you are right, feelings will be hurt, so be prepared for this.
Leave a bar of soap on his desk or deodorant stick.
Maybe a note with it saying since you cant afford it, i bought it for you.
Dont forget a tooth brush, and some mouth wash.
Maybe even instructions on how to use them.
Don't go about offering gum and stuff, this can often make them feel bad and feel like the office is conspiring against him.
Bite the bullet and them them, often they won't know and be embarrased at first but if you do it sensitivly they will thank you for it later.
Note,
If you think they will take it bad, mention to someone elce (who will not want to hurt there feelings) first, that way you can at least say that you obiously did it with the best of intetions.
The only way is to pull that person aside and tell them in a calm and nonconfronting way. Be kind. If you do not be up front about it, it will never be solved. Offering a mint or something wont work because, most likely they will say no, or even get offended.
I have a similar problem with a coworker's husband... what's worse is I am this coworker's boss. You wont hurt the coworker's feelings, you will anger them...a lot...but things will change and you'll be back in their good graces eventually. Just try to be nice about it.
buy him a bottle of listerine and high light the instruction on its use just leave it on his desk or workstation if you dont want to come off as a jerk through a ribbon on that bottle then its a gift
It is really hard to tell a co-worker something like that. You may want to be careful because sometimes medications can cause bad breath.Just tell him that you really don't want to hurt his feeling but his breath doesn't smell like flowers. You may want to let him know that you just wanted to let him know so nobody in the office talks about him and you like him and don't want to see him get hurt.Good luck!
Leave him (in his car - NOT at work...you're not out to embarrass/humiliate him in front of everyone!) a nice gift basket of soap, deodorant, toothpaste, a good toothbrush, tongue cleaner, floss, mouth wash and yes, leave it anonymously. But do make the basket very nice and of course you can include some mints, breath spray, etc.
That's too funny. I'm sorry. So this guy has gutter breath eh? Well if you are friends with him, tell him. If you are not, then set up an anonymous email account (very easy to do) and tell him, but do it nicely. Im a guy, and if my breath smelled like a*s, I would want to know. Just in case I'm that guy in the office, I just started chewing a peice of gum. Good luck.
Scope the place. Tell tic tac jokes. Wear a mask. STOP LOOK and LISTERINE. Don't be shy, tell the guy. You can't get rid of halitosis with silent osmosis.
You could offer mints or gum but don't offer it just to him, offer them to a couple others too. Just make sure he sees that. If you have to clue others in then do that. It'll make it less awkward for him and you.
Sometimes people don't smell themselves because they just get used to to the odor. I would call my co-worker into an empty office and close the door and just flat out tell him. Try to do it nicely. He may not realize how bad he smells. If he gets mad, oh well! If he is stinking up the whole office, that is just gross.
IF he has the nerve to come to work that way, then you should have the nerve to tell him. If you want to be discreet about it , then leave a bottle of mouth wash on his desk.If you think he's too dumb to take the hint then also leave a note.
If the odor is that bad it could be several things. All of which are pretty serious health issues. You could be helping this person avoid major health problems later in life. If the odor is gum disease, this person needs an evaluation from a dentist followed by extensive cleaning under the gumline. This could take 2 - 3 appointments to finish. Gum disease is now being linked to heart disease, stroke and Diabetes. Having the bacteria in the mouth undercontrol is very important.
If the odor is related to sinus problems it smells like something rotten just like the gum disease does. Seeing an Ear/Nose and Throat (ENT) doctor can determine if there is a problem. Normally antibiotics and then special nose sprays will clear up the problem. Gastric reflux is another source for odor in the mouth. He should see a physician to have tests run. Medication will help this situation too.
Maybe if you approach the person with concern for their health as the reason it might make it more tolerable. Just say you read or heard something and wanted to pass it on. Good luck.
Offer him gum, mints. Or pick up some Listerine pocket packs and then say it's new and say you picked him up one. Open a window or spray some air freshner. Or when you go brush your teeth, ask if anyone does the same thing after eating a meal. Good luck!

How do I talk a dentist into putting me to sleep for necessary work?
I am a diabetic and dentists don't want to put me to sleep to do the work. I am not saying it's because I am diabetic, I don't know why they won't. Novacaine makes me nervous and jittery but they keep giving it to me. I need some work done, the tooth is broken off below the gum line. I do NOT want to be awake to hear the scraping and grinding of the tools on the tooth or the bone in my jaw. What can I say to a dentist so he will put me to sleep? And yes, I have asked, many times and never gotten a good answer, not even "You are diabetic and it's not safe to put you to sleep during this process." Sylvia
Answer:
Sylvia:
As a practicing dentist myself I recommend that you call around and find a dentist willing to listen to your concerns and is willing to work with you. We usually do like to work with patients who have only had a Lidocaine injection because its more easy to communicate regarding the problem during the procedure. I always leave the final decision up to my patients, I would always do what was the most safe and comfortable way to help my patients and help keep them calmed and relaxed at the same time. We as dentists are here to keep you and your teeth healthy and we should always listen to your concerns and we always go with what makes you feel the most comfortable. Good luck and I hope you can find a dentist willing to listen to your concerns.
Find an oral surgeon, who specializes in sedation.not a regular dentists.your dentist should be able to refer you to one in your area
I would consider calling around. There are options to Novocaine out there, you just need to find a dentist who practices with that. You can easily say something to the effect of "I have an allergy to Novocaine" and use that for your excuse.Another option to consider is "Pain Free Dentistry" (look around, a good handful of major cities have them). Essentially they dont put you to sleep, as with anesthesia, but they often give you a pill or two to take prior to your work. This pill will relax and calm you. Upon arrival they'll normally give you another pill to take which will put you into sleep mode... it's a sedative. So you will not be asleep via the traditional method instead you'll be sedated, but because your in such a deep sleep you will not feel pain. The last option is an Oral Surgeon (which would be a little more expensive than a regular Dentist).
telll him he can fiddle with your pooter while your out?that insentive combined with the ods theres at elast one sick twisted dentist out there should be enough:)
there are some dentist who will do what you ask for probably switching to a dentist based in a hospital will grant what you desire.

How do i stop grinding my teeth?
well i don't really grind...it's more of a click click click. i do it when i'm nervous or have asong in my head,
Answer:
The only way that I know of is with a bite splint. They now sell them in drug stores. It looks like a mouth piece that a sports person wears, but it does help you stop grinding. I grind my teeth at night and I clench my jaw during the day. I had a bite splint made for me, but I know that you can now get them at drug stores. I ground my teeth so bad I ended up with TMJ, that painful joint problem in your jaw. My jaw locked and I could not open my mouth that far, it was awful.
you can chew gum or nibble on your tongue (not too hard though)
i do it also, get a mouth guard
See your dentist and get a mouth/bite guard.
candy candy candy
I do the same thing. A mouth guard helps. Get one from the dentist or one that's mold able to your teeth from the drugstore. Sugarless gum can help, gummy candy or licorice.

How do I spit right?
I just started dipping tobacco and can't for the life of me figure out how to spit right while dipping. Any tips?
Answer:
yes, quit chewing! Spit tobacco greatly increases your risk of periodontal problems and oral cancer! I don't mean to preach, but I've cared for patients with oral cancer and it's not pretty. I've had several that have had to have most of their jaw or tongue removed. It's very disfiguring and if not caught very early can be life threatening. It's not worth it, please quit!
Chewing tobacco can not cause oral cancer. Smoking can - dipping can't.But there are a bunch of other good reasons to quit. The tobacco turns your gums into leather, and I have never met a woman who is "turned on" by brown spit running from a guy's mouth.Just forget it.

How do i remove stains from my teath?i brush twice a day ,but i still have stains?
i brush twice daily ,but still cant remove the stains i.e tabacco stains .my dentist polishes them each time i visit ,but i feel he doesnt do them right
Answer:
Ask a dentist or someone that works in a pharmacy about the best treatment for teeth whitening. Beyond that, there are plenty of products in pretty much any grocery store or Wallgreens' that will give you the results you want.
You need to stop smoking and drinking tea or coffee to prevent new stains. There are plenty of over-the-counter whiteners. However, most of them work by using abrasives that remove the very top layer of stained enamel. This is a temporary solution, and what then happens is that the teeth stain again - this time, deeper into the tooth than the original problem. If you want to whiten your teeth, the most effective way is to have them done by a dentist using one of the latest laser technologies. This can be quite expensive! If you are really on a budget, you may want to consider having the proceedure done in another country. For example, instead of having it done in London, you may want to consider going to Poland, or Spain, or any of the Eastern European countries to have it done at a fraction of the cost.
Change your dentist and see if it works if not there is a commerical with a tooth whitening porduct where you appy a paste followed by a special light. Its supposed to work
LOOK UP TOOTH WHITENING ON THE NET but remeber there are a lot of sharks in the internet sea.
Go to another dentist, there are different teeth whitening methods.
Buy yourself one of the latest sonic toothbrushes and use a whitening tooth paste. Used in conjuction with each other this really does work as long as you brush at least twice a day and for at least two minutes each time.
Its good advice to reduce the coffee and tea intake too.
Brush with baking soda, or a crushed strawberry...
My teeth were terrible (I used to smoke, drink tea and coke and red wine) I have been using colgate whitening for a few years now and although my teeth aren't white, they have certainly improved loads. (This was before I gave up smoking too) Good luck.
Topal toothpaste for smokers works very well with tabacco, coffee and tea stains and it only costs a couple of bucks a tube.
My husband and i both smoke and drink coffee, We have tried everything to whiten our teeth.
We use Crest Whitestrips.
You can really tell a differance after 3 - 4 times of useing them.Give them a try ....Good luck!
Have you let your dentist know that you would like your teeth whitened? Polishing makes them feel great but doesn't do a whole lot on the whitening front.Things you can do to whiten them are to cut back on the smoking. Get a battery operated toothbrush (Crest makes one for under $5 USD) and brush twice daily for at least 2 minutes each time. Follow the brushing with a good mouthwash. You may also want to try brushing with pure baking soda. Just be sure to follow with brushing with regular toothpaste.Good luck %26 keep smiling! : )
You need to do multiple things...Get a white colored tooth paste, as it has the correct abrasive composition.Get a good battery operated tooth brush, preferably OralBRinse out your mouth after Tea/coffeeUse a baking Soda based chewing gum. It has whitening characteristics.WARNING: you must remember that the dentist is actually grinding away valuable enamel every time he grinds/polishes your teeth. It's dangerous when done incorrectly, and makes your teeth more prone to discoloring.Hope that helps...:)
I have the same problem too. When i was younger smoking didn't stain my teeth. Now i am older it does. Its almost impossible to get rid of the stains with a normal toothpaste, even if you do use an electric brush. You need a smokers toothpaste or power or a home whitening kit. These do though, as someone said, make your teeth more prone to staining in the long run. The only real solution is to give up the ciggies!Having a clean at the dentist should get rid of the stains. If you are not finding that it does, then point out the particular areas to the dentist - it may be that some of the staining is actually within your teeth.Good luck.
I'm a former smoker and coffee addict. I use the crest white strips and it works everytime. Three years and counting. The Renewal and the Classic line worked for me. But the Premium didn't. Two boxes and no diff. But everyone's diff. Another way is to use Sonicare. It whitened my teeth so well that my dentistsaid I didn't even need whitening. But, you have to be super gentle or it can damage your gums and teeth. I did and now I can't use it anymore. Or you can get a professional whitening from your dentist. Trays are the best because you can just buy the refills and do them at home. The laser whitenings are great but it's one time and if the stains return next year, you have to do it again. But the results are immediate. Good luck!
I used crest dental strips. I got them from Ebay. I had a colgate white smile the first time I used them. Although the results havent lasted 18 months as it said they would. But they are still whiter than before. I will use them again.
Go to a hygienist, it's their job to clean and get rid of stain on your teeth, then look into whitening, but dietry factors contribute to stain

How do i relive pain from spacers in teeth?
These things hurt like a mother is there anyway to make them not hurt so bad without drugs
Answer:
take motrin, use sensodyne toothpaste, use anbesol (otc numbing gel for the mouth, put it on your teeth and gums). guess two of those are drugs. drugs are the way to go with this one. maybe warm or cool drinks? whichever feels better.
?????
nope, meds, ice.. and sleep.. I dunno when I had them I was so miserable I tried to sleep it off :-/
i know this sounds kind of stupid but i used to bite down on something real hard and it would take away the pain.. also try taking some ibprofien
will Advil and Tylenol will obviously help, but drinking warm home-made salt water will help. Swish it around a bit. The pain will be gone completely in a couple days, don't worry/
suck on ice or a popsicle.
rub ice on your gums
Sadly no. Oragel works though, it numbs the mouth. I absolutely HATE spacers. Girgling with warm salt water works a little bit.
You can use Ora Gel, it is over the counter and you apply it right to the gums were the spacer is. But I would talk to your dentist about the problem. The spacer should not be causing you that much pain. My 10 year old daughter has a spacer and when it hurt her, her dentist made an adjustment and no more pain. I would really get in to see your dentist.Good Luck
Kali :-)Nurse Practitioner
Do you have any whole cloves in your spice rack or kitchen cupboards? I don't know what "spacers" are but whenever I have a toothache, I like to get a whole clove and put it in my mouth by the sore tooth and the strong clove numbs the area after a while w/o drugs and w/o irritation. I also heard from someone that concentrated clove oil is sold sometimes for this purpose but haven't seen it in the store ever myself. (when using the whole clove I usually scrape a little of the outer layer of the clove off before putting it in my mouth, just to get down to the stronger more potent center for faster numbing.)
Unfortunately, the only thing I know of is medication. If the dentist gave you any kind of pain killers (or if you happen to have them on hand from other things), use them! If he/she didn't, then you can at least take aspirin or ibuprofen; it can help you deal with at least a little bit of the swelling. Rinsing with warm salt water can also help, as can using a heating pad.If the dentist didn't give you anything, I suggest calling them and asking them for something to be sent to the pharmacy. That was one of the most unpleasant things about getting braces!Hang in there!
HI,
NO THERE ISN'T W/O DRUGS.TAKE IBUPROFEN.
eat/drink cold stuff. freezies, slushies, ice cream.

suck on ice or a popsicle.
rub ice on your gums

How do I prove my daughter's dental braces are medically needed to her insurance? She has Doral insurance.
Answer:
You would have to have your dentist and your medical doctor write letters to the insurance company stating the medical reasons for the dental braces.
as bad as i hate to say this Insurance compaies will not listen to you personally best bet is have your medical doctor and dentist write the insurance company a letter stating the needs etc. I almost developed cancer in my esohphagus cause of my insurabce not wanting to pay for my medication for acid reflux , they kept making me try this try that then when i got so sick, had to have upper scoped run they found orecancerous cells , it took pictures of this and letters then my insurance company finally realized to let doctors be doctors and them be insurance. So talk to your medical doctor and dentist about this they shoulod have no problem doing such for you, its very common these days with insurance, I dont really see why you need much proof here . its obvious . But like i said isnurance companies like to sometimes htink they are doctors. anything to save a $. Good luck
In addition to the answers you have already received which I agree with your dentist and your MD if the teeth are really misaligned get a note from speech pathologists, teachers that they interfere with speech or self confidence a report from a physiologist or school councilor and a note from the child as well as you explaining how life is effected. If I can be of more assistance feel free to email me I have experience with this particular situation. Best of Luck
There are two reasons braces are recommended: interceptive or preventative, which involve placing restorations to prevent premature loss of teeth, placing space maintainers to hold space for missing teeth, recognizing any deviation from "normal" dentition, observing growth patterns/development of bones, correcting bad habits affecting the mouth as early as possible, extracting teeth to prevent overcrowding, and removing 'baby teeth' to make room for permanent teeth.
Corrective ortho: placing braces, bands, brackets, arch wires, and ties; placing removable appliances, like functional retainers; or orthognathic surgery for severe cases. The x-rays that your child's dentist provides your insurance company should show why your child needs orthodontic care. You should not have to have direct contact with the insurance company. The dentist and medical doctors you visit should have enough diagnostic evidence (photos, x-rays, medical and dental history, study models) to pass along to the insurance company. That is what you are paying for.
How do i prevent cavities since i throw up all the time ?
I am 14 and have been ill for 2 months with a stomach illness which causes me to throwup. And i am not belimic. The doctors do not know what is wrong so they really can't do anything. Well recently i have went to the dentist and he told me i have a cavity, even though it is a baby toothe it still upsets me because i have done nothing wrong. I never have had a cavity before i have became ill. I know it is from the acid in the vomit. What else can i do besides brushing and flossing my teeth? Please HELP me
Answer:
Normally they will just fill the cavity for you and you dont need to worry anymore. If you ask your dentist for the best option i am sure they will help you along.
rinse with mouthwash also
The acid in your emesis did not cause the cavity. That would just cause the enamel to wear away. Cavities can happen to anyone as lots of foods contain sugars are cause debris that can be missed when you brush and floss. It is not something you did or didn't do since you take good care of your teeth. As for the emesis your docs should be giving you medication to help control this until they figure out what is going on.
I agree ask your DDS.
Get your doctor to do more extensive testing. There must be a reason your stomach is bothering you and it could result in worse problems than a cavity if you don't get it treated.
Talk to ur parents and see a specialist in gastro (stomach) pain. the cavity was probably there before u started throwing up and u just were not aware of it, no one vomits for no reason that is why i am asking u to see a specialist so things will get better.. and they will.
Use mouthwash. I had to do that when I got really sick. It should work.
You need to get to the root of your problem. It is not normal to vomit frequently when you are 14. You need to see a gastroenterologist and find out what is going on. There are also medications you can take for nausea that will prevent vomiting. See a doctor unless you really are bulemic and just don't want to admit it. If you are, you should know that this can cause bigger problems than cavities, such as cardiac arrhythmias and even death.
your mom and dad need to take you to different doctors! throwing up even once is really bad for the body as a whole. somebody needs to find out what is going on. on the oral hygeine thing try rinsing your mouth with hydrogen peroxide. just put a small amount (like a capful) in your mouth and swish it around for a few minutes -- like while you are showering or maybe just after you throw up. i think it works better than floss at getting stuff out from between your teeth and its a lot easier too. it also whitens your teeth.
The cavity you're having isn't because of the vomit. It is true that vomit actually causes erosion of the teeth, but not cavities, especially that you've been having the vomit since 2 monthes only. You should have this cavity restored to prevent further dental caries on this tooth and continue maintaining your oral hygiene to prevent dental caries and oral diseases on other teeth.

How do I plan for getting my wisdom teeth pulled?
I'm having them pulled soon and I know I can't drive away from the place but what to eat and will I need some OTC painkillers or do they usally prescribe something? My parents are helping pay but I don't want to spend money on a prescription if some thing else will do the trick far cheaper. Please only answer if you have helpful advice.Thanks.
Answer:
Seriously, the pain meds will probably be less than $35. Don't skimp on this one... you'll want the extra "help" to get over the pain for the first few days. However, if you are totally bent on not getting them, doctors say that 4 tablets of Ibuprofen 3 times a day for NO MORE than 3 weeks is the best way to get rid of inflammation and swelling. Drink LOTS of water.
Suck on ice.
Get lots of rest.Tylenol PMs or melatonin really help with knocking you out for a good 4-8 hours. Take the recommended dose on the bottle. But if you take the Pm's.. cut back on your ibuprofen in the amount of pills that you are taking to sleep.
They will prescribe pain killers. Some people find them needed and others don't... I DID. If you're not sure the pharmacy will probably let you just pick up a few of the pain killers. If you end up needing them, you can then go get the rest of it filled. Get some stuff to eat like pudding, ice cream, yogurt and jello. I also managed to eat some mashed potatoes before I could chew. Some people recover pretty fast. Some people don't. I was absolutely miserable and in pain for over a week (though all 4 of mine were bony impacts... esh). You might want somebody around who can take care of you, get you ice, etc.Good luck! Some people manage to start eating again in a couple days, so it's not that bad for everyone.
The one thing that I can add to this is that you definitely need to keep pressure on the area where the teeth are extracted. You need a blood clot to form and to stay in the socket. If you lose the blood clot then you get what is called a dry socket and that can be painful and you will need to contact the dentist and you will need to see him again. Most people prefer to have the prescription drugs, but that is up to you. I feel you'll be happy that you bought them. Soft foods are usually recommended. The oral surgeon's office will give you all the information you will need and explain what you need to do. Different people have different reactions, some it doesn't bother at all. My husband needed medication for a couple of days. Just be prepared to take it easy for a few days and keep soft food around. If you get the pain prescription then it'll probably make you tired and allow you to relax while you heal.

How do I make a mixture of hydrogen peroxide and baking soda to whiten my teeth?
Can you guys give me instructions on how to do this?
Answer:
I don't know if you can. Yes, these are the two most popular ingredients claimed to be in today's toothpastes. But making it yourself...baking soda fizzes and dissolves when wet and hydrogen peroxide fizzes and becomes water + oxygen when exposed to certain catalysts. That's why it bubbles when you use it to clean a bleeding wound. I would suppose that if you added just a little peroxide at a time to the bicarb until you get a paste, much like I add just a spritz of witch hazel extract to bicarb when I make bath seltzers, then it wouldn't set off the reaction. You'll have to try.Let me know, I can't seem to find a toothpaste that isn't some flavor of mint. I hate mint, so I want to make my own toothpaste
never heard of it...sorry
Simply swish with hydrogen peroxide. Make sure not to swallow any, there is no taste (except the taste of water). After you spit give the bubbles a minute before you rinse to do their magic. Works great, especially over time.
stir it together...there you go.
Add enough peroxide to form a paste. Then brush. I use sea salt also. You can grind the dry ingredients together first if you use salt.
It doesn't make them chemically white, if that's what you want.
Lemon zest is good to grind with it too.
put a little of both in the cap of the hyd.. and mix it till it is pasty like tooth paste. Put it on your toth brush and brush. It can be thin but add more baking soda to thicken it.
Step 1: Get a cup or other container, a bottle of hydrogen peroxide, and a box of baking soda.Step 2: Pour both the peroxide and the baking soda into the container.Step 3: Stir.

How do I learn to love my braces?
I got my braces put in today, and even though I am aware that they'll give me straight, gorgeous teeth, I still don't like them. They are really painful, prevent me from eating some of my favorite foods, and when I smile, I think I look horrible.Any tips on how to overcome this and learn to like them? Thanks in advance.
Answer:
Do an internet search of before and after pictures. This is only temporary. The pain will go away, and you will get used to them. Time will fly by, and once they are off you will be elated that you got them.
you will get used to it...i know friends that got them and felt this same way...but for now just accept it or else u will become too self cautious
Well, it's hard getting used to them at first. They hurt for a few weeks after you get them, and then the pain starts to go away. Just make sure you brush your teeth and floss them so you when your orthodontist finally takes your braces off, you won't have the squares on your teeth. Also, make sure you do everything the orthodontist tells you to do, especially when if you have to wear rubber bands because I've seen people have to wear their braces for a longer amount of time.
Grin and bear it. Nobody really likes them and yes they are painful and inconvenient. Look at the bright side:Stainless steel sex appeal !
when i got my braces, i felt the same way. Though, after only 3 days, i was back to eating all of my favorite foods (except gum of course! [= ). and about thinking you look horrible? i thought that too, but i soon overcame that when i thought about how great my teeth will look when i get them off!good luck!
Once your mouth gets used to the way they feel, you'll accept them more. They will hurt when you get them adjusted. My kids would get different color rubberbands and wires to make them look better. They are a pain in the rear especially for eating. Just be proud that you had parents that cared enough and could afford to get them put on you.Hang in there!!
Don't be ashamed of your braces first of all. A lot of kids at a young age have them and back then, they were a real status of symbol. As in, if you could afford them, you were like respected and all that.Try not to eat the foods you aren't supposed to eat. It will be faster for your treatment by a LOT and if you keep up on your healthy daily teeth routine, it will pay in the end. There are a lot of other things you can eat in substitute. I was still able to eat some of my favorite foods because not EVERYTHING is unedible. When you just got your braces, it will HURT. When you bite, it will cause some pain. For me it did. Just eat really soft foods like applesauce, pudding, yogurt, plain soup, jook. You can't really bite or cut with your teeth, since they need to deal with some INSANELY STRONG FORCE UPON THEM. After a week or two, it will be back to normal. You could even eat pork chop, fish etc. TRy to not be sick of teh foods you might be eating now. At least try to eat something and maybe if you left your mouth slightly ajar, and open your teeth wont touch. If after some time with your braces, maybe some 6 weeks later, say something is wrong. Your braces are hurting your lips or something, call your orthrodontist. If you can, use the wax and apply it on the area as needed. This includes loose wires that are poking your cheeks. So just pinch a little out and roll it into a ball. DRY the tooth and or wire or bracket, with a Q-tip, since it sticks so much better. When you eat or brush your teeth, take the wax out and re-apply it.Your mouth will nomrally adjust soon after. Don't worry, you WILL GET USED TO THEM. It will feel normal as if you never had them unless you brush your teeth, eat, or pay extra attention to your mouth for some reason. You might have to deal with them now, but not to worry. If you had them much later in your life when you are an older teenager or adult, it would be a longer treatment, and probably would hurt more.Good luck!

How do i know if my tongue piercing is infected?
Answer:
Usually the tongue falls off by then!
Your tongue would be swollen and it would hurt.
if its sore
Puffy, swollen, discharge, or very soar
well, i dont have a tongue ring, but if its kinda like bothering you and if its itching or just sore, then i guess how i will knoe its infected.
It will be swollen, sore %26 possibly white around the pierced area. You can always go back to the piercer %26 he can check it for you.
is your tongue swelling and red and is puss coming out of it thats when you know when its in infected.
your tongue stays swollen and sore up to 3 weeks! if i tis infected you would have PUS comeign out of it
You have to be careful. If it is inflamed in anyway watch out and make sure you use mouthwash alot and be sure to tighten the balls on top and bottom and also make sure the bar in between is long enough for the thickness of your tongue. If you are feeling any pain because of it go and get it checked out because you arent supposed to feel any kind of pain from a tongue piercing if it was done correctly and yo are keeping it clean.
The swelling, the odor and the pain. Just ask someone to look in your mouth and they will be able to tell you. Just to be on the safe side why not take out piercing. If you lose your tongue you will not be able to speak. Is it worth it?
If you see stuff around the ring it might be infected or if the swelling doesn't go down in a week or so. Just try to brush your tongue and use listerine, keep it clean as possible. It took my tongue a week before the swelling went away. I washed my mouth with listerine after every meal and when I woke up and went to bed. I hated the fact that I couldn't eat solid food for a week. I did cheat though, I broke off small pieces and put it in the back of my mouth. If your really worried go to where you got it pierce and they will tell you.
what's pus taste like?
If your tongue resembles the GoodYear blimp and your breath smells like burnt rubber then it's a pretty good bet that you have an infection. Best idea would be to visit a Doctor for a professional opinion.
Keep an eye on it. If you think it is infected I would remove it. Mine got a sore around the top ball. My dentist told me to swish my mouth with a 1:1 solution of water and hydrogen peroxide before bed and then throughout the day uses a q-tip to apply full strenght peroxide to the area. He also said to avoid spicy, salty or irritating foods.
I guess it just depends on what kinda infection it is.
The only thing I think about is that the hole is an open wound (because your tongue is a muscle it never really heals, thats why it can close up when you remove it, it can finally heal) and that open hole leads to a bloodstream that goes through your heart and alot of germs from the mouth can cause endocarditis (heart infection).
it will be swollen and hurt like heck for a few days after you get it done. if it is infected you may run a fever and there will be greenish, pus-like drainage. you should have gotten after care instructions and a sheet with the signs of infection when you had your piercing done, assuming you had it done by a licensed professional. refer to those and if you're still in doubt go see your doctor...better safe than sorry
swollen and sore for more then a week after
Remove it immediately and go to an emergency room for an exam and antibiotics !
The "puss" is really called lymph.
Your tongue will produce lymph, be swollen %26 sore for about 1 week or more. :) I just got my tongue pierced yesterday! Same thing is happening to me.
Oh, buy some seasalt and mix it into water, that is a better way of cleaning your new piercing.
It's all perfectly normal. Infection is indicated by: green pus (not white or yellowish), pain, heat, redness. You're going to have swelling for up to two weeks, white or whitish-yellow discharge for a while (called lymph) and it's going to hurt for about 2 weeks as well. Tongues rarely get infected.Keep up with the sea salt soaks (H2Ocean is fine), don't play with it, avoid any kind of oral contact with others for at least 10 weeks. You'll be fine. Don't use mouthwash as aftercare (you can use mouthwash normally after 2 weeks)
How do I know if I'm grinding teeth and how can I stop it?
I think I grind my teeth at night but I'm not sure. Sometimes when I wake up my jaw is really stiff and my teeth hurt a little.
What can I do to stop this?
Why does this happen?
Is it because I ate before going to bed? Or is it from stress? What? I don't wake up with a stiff mouth all the time, but I did today and it's a little scary. So what do I do? Is this serious?
Answer:
Its called "Bruxism", and although common, it can cause some very serious problems. Your dentist can make you a nightguard. You can also try one of the sports guards they sell over the counter to try to break you of this habit. It is usually a symptom of stress.
It can be stress related
it can a sign of rectal pinworms
check with your dentist, and to stop it the dentist can give u a mouthpiece you wear at night. i think u can buy one in stores too.
Get a massage... works wonders...
also try a mouth guard at night while your sleeping...

How do I know if I have a cavity?
My tooth hurts and I have braces and the rubber bands are right next to it, so is it a cavity?
Answer:
I bet there's a 99.8% chance your tooth hurts because your braces are doing what they're supposed to do - shift the holes in your jaw bone so your teeth can move, which hurts.Still, ask your dentist when you go back in for an adjustment. They won't want you to get cavities from the brackets they installed.
Talk to your dentist.
If your tooth hurts if you have cold / hot liquids, then yes it is. Since your wearing braces, its possible that its not properly designed to fit in your mouth.A cavity is a hole that can grow bigger and deeper over time.As the name suggests, a cavity can be easily felt with your tongue. If you cant feel it, then you have nothing.Better to getit checked with the Dentist. Your dentist will carefully examine your teeth and may take X-rays. If your dentist discovers a cavity, he or she can repair it.All the best
GO BACK TO YOUR ORTHODONTIST AND HAVE HIM/HER TEST THIS TOOTH FOR A CAVITY.
If a dentist isn't readily available go to a mirror and grad a toothpick or something similar too it.If it is a cavity, when you clinch your jaws you should feel some pain. There will also be coloration. Cavities normally turn black as it eats your tooth away, OR it may be a stain (typically from someone who drinks soda alot). Cavities are extremly sensitive and soft. So take the toothpick and GENTLY poke at it. If it begins to hurt or begins to feel sticky as you poke it, then BINGO, its more than likely a cavity!

How do I handle write offs when the patient has primary and secondary insurances?
I work for a dental office. I have a patient who has two dental insurances. We are in network with the primary and secondary. The patient came in and the visit was $150. The patient's primary insurance paid $115 with a $35 write off. I want to make sure I am doing this the correct way. When this is the case, we do not bill the secondary due to the write off from being in network with the primary insurance, correct? We still write off that primary insurance portion even though there is a secondary insurance, don't we? So I would not bill the secondary at all? Thanks for any help!
Answer:
Unless otherwise stated in your provider contract, you are allowed to bill the secondary for any money you did not collect from the primary. What I usually do is take the primary write-off and bill the secondary insurance for the full fee less the primary payment. If you use an adjustment (depending on your software) to post the primary write-off, it shouldn't show on the claim form. Here's something to be careful of, however: some insurance plans will take the same write-off as the primary! They stipulate in their contract that you can't charge them more (as secondary) than you charge the primary - even though you have NO contract with the secondary. It gets plenty complicated. Email me if you need more help. This is kinda my area.

How do I get rid of really bad tooth ache?
I have got really bad tooth ache and have tried Ibuprofen and Paracetamol and it hasn't stopped hurting! How can I lessen or remove the pain?
Answer:
Clove oil works GREAT!!! probably can find it at Walgreens, CVS or a pharmacy like that. It does make you drool, but drooling is easier to deal with than pain. Been There, hope you feel better!!
Have you tried Aleve? You may want to try to swiggle lukewarm water with some salt in it.
Take paracetomol , or penicilin there at most stores
See a dentist as soon as possible. In the meantime, go to the chemist and ask for co-codamol - it has a litte codeine in it which is stronger than paracetamol or ibuprofen on their own.
See your dentist. You might have a cavity, cracked tooth, or other similar ailment.
increase the dosage of the ibuprofen and try putting a hot water botle on the side of your mouth you have the pain. that works for me.go to the dentist you might simply need anti biotics
Go to the Denstist before it gets worse. Like a root canal. You may have had a cavity that has eaten through your tooth enamel and eventually can lead to your gums root. This is a sign of infection and that something is going on.So go the dentist...
Brush your teeth!
Have the tooth removed - end of problem
rip the tooth out
have the tooth removed.
At the chemist you can buy tooth tincture its like oil of cloves
I hate toothache you can't doo anything, can't give the mouth love and cuddles, can't put on a plaster.
well how much ibuprofen did you take? You need to take 800 mg (4 pills) 3 times a day. If that still hurts, add 1000mg tylenol every 4, until you get to the dentist. bag of ice too!
go to dentist or dental hospital be careful what you drink try stick to water anything hot or sugary will irritate it more.
Try putting clove oil on it. It is said to work wonders, but I'm allergic to it, so I don't know for sure. You can also scrape raw a garlic clove, and put it on the tooth/between the tooth and your cheek. Garlic is a natural antibiotic, so it may help take care of any infection, and it may also help kill pain.Try Anbesol or Orajel. Both are topical oral pain relievers.Call the dentist - a tooth won't ache unless something is seriously wrong. Even a cavity shouldn't hurt. Chances are, your nerve is exposed. You may need to have a root canal or have the tooth removed.Good luck!
Orajel maximum strength, Morphine, Lora tab, Ever Clear, Rum, Gin, etc...
Do a mouth wash with salt water. Helps.Massage it gently with salt and oil= mix. Oilve or any edible oil.
Clove oil on it too . take care. Too much will burn it.
Then go to a Dentist and get it treated.
go to a dentist!
or try some bonjela, its babies teething gel. apply oil of cloves, chill the pain, keep your head up, floss, if sensitive to air, cover it with gauze or sugarfree gum unti l you get to a dentist.
Having suffered with just the same thing recently I can assure you that the only thing that will get rid of it is a course of antibiotics as the pain is caused by infection.Good luck!
You really need to go to a dentist covering up the pain with pain killers it not going to work !! Go before you get an abbess and your face swells up !
Other than get along to a dentist as soon as possible????
While you are waiting for your dentist visit you can crush a whole clove and put it on the tooth. This is an old remedy that I used when I broke a tooth. You get clove in the spice section of the supermarket. It only lasts a little while but you can repeat as often as you like. You do have to see the dentist.

I just had a root canal done a couple days ago and I was miserable before that, so please Do see a dentist ASAP! but in the mean time, try liquid Anbesol, buy a dropper and put a couple drops right on the tooth after it's numb get a tooth brush and shove more anbesol between your tooth and gum, I did this for 3 days and it worked at least for a couple hours. Also after that I would put a warm compress on my cheek, that helped a bit too, OH! and 800mg of ibuprofen! I hope you feel better, there's nothing worse than a tooth ache!
Try some Humphrey's teething pellets available at most pharmacies. Although, designed for teething babies, they work quite well on adults. I have very sensitive teeth because of weak enamel and I use them if I am going to eat ice cream or such. You can also use oil of clove.
Urr go to the dentist!
Go to the dentist!!
Rince with antibacterial mouth wash to relieve any gum pain, then put some clove oil on (It taste nasty, but it works). Take 1 Paracetimol and 1 ibuprofen (there not that good if you take them seperatly, but together, there quite good)
There's a ONE-WORD, very simple answer, - DENTIST!

How do I get rid of bad breath?
Answer:
Bad breath is caused by a problem in the bowel and stomach. To get rid of bad breath you need to look at your food intake. Increase vegetables and raw fruit. Cut out (or eat less) red meat, change to lighter meats like chicken.Watch alchohol intake and smoking.Generally watch what you eat. Also drink 8 glasses of water. This cleanses stomach. You can hide bad breath, but having it means something isn't right in your tum.
brush ur teeth
brush you gums and tongue as well as your teeth and eat parsley
You can use mouthwash, crest or listerine, sometimes going to the dentist can explain ways to control bad breath
Get a colonic..helps..(think it is all connected) Something may just be rotten in there
Brush your teeth. No just kidding! I'm sure that you know that you need to brush your teeth every day. (you don't live in the U.K. do you? HA ha.) Anyway, parsley, and mint are good for that.
have your Dr. check you for a sinus infection my son is getting his adenoids taken out because his sinuses keep causing an infection that makes his breath horrible. If you chooses a breath mint get sugar free because bad breath germs get worse with sugar
(1)floss between every teeth every morning
(2)brush your teeth morning and night
(3)chew gum before talking to somebody
see your dentist
Brush your teeth at least twice a day. Floss regularly. Use mouthwash that will kill germs and prevent gingivitus because that makes bad breath. When brushing your teeth make sure you also brush your tongue. Even chewing gum will get rid of bad breath. :)
There are some toothbrushes that have a tongue cleaner thing on it, so you could try that since there is a lot of bacteria on the tongue. It will help your breath smell fresher. Also, try a toothpaste that foams like that one Aquafresh one. I use that. its very minty and foamy and makes your teeth feel very smooth.
Also you should carry mints around.
hope that helps

Halitosis, foul-smelling breath. Halitosis may be caused by poor oral hygiene, a disease of the mouth, throat, nose, or lungs, or digestive disturbances.
What causes halitosis or bad breath? While bad breath or halitosis may sometimes be caused by poor oral hygiene, there may also be other underlying causes which contribute to bad breath and are often difficult to treat, despite all efforts to follow a healthy mouth and teeth cleaning routine. This can cause great distress and even result in problems with relationships and difficulties in the workplace. There are a number of causes of bad breath, including: Poor oral hygiene
Gum disease (e.g. gum boils, abscesses, spongy gums, gingivitis)
Multiplication of odor-causing bacteria in the mouth and digestive tract
Candidiasis
Chronic sinus infection
Certain medications (especially those that cause dry mouth as a side effect)
Smoking
Some foods can cause bad breath (garlic, onions, anchovies, high protein diet)
Poor digestion and sluggish liver
Constipation
How do I know if I have bad breath? Sometimes bad breath is noticed by an unpleasant or bitter taste in your mouth. You can also check the smell of your saliva by licking the skin on your inner wrist and then smelling it. If it has an offensive odor, then the chances are that your breath is not as sweet as you would like it to be! However, it is also possible to suffer from bad breath without being aware of it. If you notice that people tend to step away from you when you speak, turn their heads or cover their mouths, then bad breath may be a problem.
What else can help? Brush your teeth after every meal and before you go to bed
Don't smoke!
Gargle with a peppermint and fennel flavored mouth wash
Chewing raw celery sticks helps to freshen breath
Make sure that your toothbrush is kept clean and sterilized
Dry mouth is a frequent cause of bad breath. Make sure you drink at least 8 glasses of water a day
Do not go on starvation diets. Regular chewing and swallowing helps with saliva production and can help to prevent dry mouth
Use Detox Drops to cleanse your system
Take a course of Candidate if you suspect that you have Candida overgrowth (Candidiasis). Symptoms include fatigue, frequent yeast infections, digestive disorders, excessive gas and odor problems
Clearing underlying and chronic sinus infections can help to prevent bad breath
Gargle every morning and evening...If it doesn't work maybe you have broken teeth...that makes your breath bad!
You can gargle, eat mints, parsley or anything else that is suppose to eliminate bad breath, but they only do the trick for a few minutes. There may be a reason for bad breath; possibly from something you鈥檝e eaten, dental decay, gum disease or poor hygiene. The best way to eliminate bad breath is with a professional cleaning to make sure it's not from decay or gum disease that's causing the bad breath. Then after the professional cleaning, keeping up with your home care will eliminate the bad breath completely. A thorough brushing, twice a day; brushing the tissue of the cheeks, gums, roof of the mouth and tongue. Believe it or not but this is where most of the odor causing bacteria are. Also flossing your teeth at least once, if only at night is a good way of removing particles of food that are trapped in between the teeth that will not only cause bad breath, but also decay to develop. So, start with a professional cleaning making sure there isn't a reason for this problem, then revise your home care adding other techniques as I've described. You will notice the change in your breath immediately, and so will others. I hope I've been of some help and good luck!
Use a tongue scraper. I use one w/a brush on one end and a scraper on the other. Add a little toothpaste. And brush in a few directions then scrape. It helps to get rid of the bad breath germs which are mostly on your tongue. Some ppl brush their cheeks and roof of mouth too. Keep up with dental cleanings too. They can check for decay or gum disease which can cause bad breath. If you drink coffee, rinse or brush after. Or if you smoke, try to quit. Good luck!
well I'm sorry to say this but This is a disaster i once faced a few years ago. %26gt;Well U need That special Mentality to overcome this.

How do i get rid of a tooth abcess? can i pop it on my own?
Answer:
An infected tooth, or abscess as they are called are extremely painful. PLEASE see a Dentist or take a trip to your local ER as soon as possible as this CANNOT be fixed on its own. Antibiotics and pain medication that the Doctor will prescribe will eventually help the tooth become less infected but once you stop antibiotics the infection WILL return and is usually much more painful the second time around. Infection from an abscess tooth can spread to the throat causing an airway obstruction and can spread to the heart and brain and cause very severe problems and sometimes fatal complications. As a dentist we always recommend trying to save the tooth by having a root canal, but in a financial situation an extraction may be your best choice. PLEASE see a dentist in your area to discuss a treatment as this can become extremely painful. Also try using COLD compresses, do NOT use heat as this can cause the infection to worsen and spread and become more painful.
No. You need to see an dentist immediately and most like take antibiotics.
lol no no no , you need to see a dentist he will take an xray and give you an antibiotic depending on how extensive the absess is.
-dental assistant
Its not a whitehead pimple!
lol... you can't pop it.
You have to go see ur dentist... s/he will tell you what to do.
How do i get rid of a lose tooth pain free by tomorrow?
I dont know i'm just scared, i have a loose tooth, and i'm getting braces tomorrow. And it needs to leave. HELP
can they put on braces with a loose tooth?
Answer:
They usually go around your teeth that are loose adn wait until you pop it out. Although, By a certain time if it isnt out, they take it out for you. No need to worry, I have 2 loose ones and I have braces.
They could take it out for you at the orthodontist.
If the tooth is loose then the doc may yank it or may just skip putting a bracket on it. Good luck.
please dont be scared...it does happen all the time..they will probably remove it for you..to get a deffinant answer you could call the office and ask for their advice...they can give you a more direct answer that would help ease your mind and make you feel better..no need to worry..also try taking an ibprophen for the discomfort.hope you feel better:)

How do i get my teeth whiter?
i have 3 months until school starts back again, and i would like my teeth to be whiter. The color they are now is not what you call a pretty smile. I have bad habits of drinking sodas and eating sweets. Can you people give me some tips on how to get my teeth whiter? thanks
Answer:
read tips on teeth whitening and more on this site
orbit/trident white.
brush 2 times a day for 2 min.
Listerine/crest whiting.this what i do %26 mine r getting whiter.or you can get them cleaned at the dentest, but that will cost a lot.
Use peroxide as a mouth wash, and try herbal toothpaste--http://mind-mart.com/halitosis-causes-an...
There are basically three ways you can have your teeth whitened, and they are of variable efficacy. 1. You can buy cheap whitening at your local supermarket. Make sure it has hydrogen peroxide or carbamide peroxide as its active ingredient. 2. You can buy high quality whitening trays online or possibly through your local health store or pharmacy. High quality trays tend to cost between $75-$300, but if you are set on whitening your teeth at home then they might be a good option. High quality trays tend to have more of the active ingredients, and therefore do a better job of whitening your teeth.3. You can goto a cosmetic dentist and have your teeth whitened with a laser. This is probably your best option, but it is the most expensive of the three. Dentists use gels with the same active ingredients as over the counter trays, but the laser is said to active them better.

How do I get my teeth to look like people on t.v.?
Without doing anything cosmetic like veneers and stuff? My teeth are really straight...thankfully it was something that just happened naturally and my parents didn't have to cough up the cash for braces. However, how do you get the teeth to be that white and the gums to be that pink and healthy looking? How do you pinken your gums? Also can you do this without having to spend a ton of money at the dentist? I do take care of my teeth and get regular cleanings but I just feel I can do more to make my teeth healthier. Also, it probably sounds really shallow but I am getting ready to start a new career in which I will constantly be dealing with new clients and I really want to pep up my teeth and smile. I just think your smile says about you.:-)
Answer:
Try whitening strips. They may not give you the same whitening results as the ones on Tv but very white for reg folks. Or ask your dentist about laser whitening. It's pricey though and can get stained again. Another option are trays from your dentist. You place the gel on it and wear them for 30 mins. You just pay for the refills after the initial payment for the trays. Or some dentists offer Crest Supreme. Just like the reg Crest Strips but higher whitening ingredients and longer strip. But don't get them super white though, lol. I live here in So Ca (LA area) and whitening is very popular. Some are way to white though. Reminds me of dentures or glow in the dark teeth, lol. Some have veneers or bonding. The strips or trays gave me fast results w/o looking unnatural. Good luck!
Kiss a lot of as$
You could buy whitening strips. Make sure you use Crest, and not cheap ones. They really work, and the illusion of very white teeth might make your gums seem a lighter shade of pink.
the crest white strips will work, but some of those stars have extremely white teeth, that's not natural, and it can be really expensive. Zoom, or even internal bleeching.
On TV they use special lighting so it makes teeth look whiter than they are. If your teeth are crooked get braces. If they are stained buy ultrabite toothpaste and brush your teeth with it. Also use mouthwash, floss, and brush your tongue daily.

How do i get my teeth straighted with out braces?
how do i get them cmopletly straighted quikly and with out bracs or even with out invisalign. i have a book coming out and i need to get ready for photo shoots and book signings. Please help... btw im only 15.
Answer:
I'd like to tell you that this is possible, but sorry - it just isn't. If someone told you of a method it wouldn't be reputable. The reason is that if teeth are moved too quickly it will make the roots resorb (disappear), so you end up with short unstable roots of the teeth causing you major problems in the future. Maybe for your next book jacket cover! Good luck!
JAMRDH - a dental hygienist
I think I read something about some type of cover that goes over your teeth. I would suggest maybe talking to a dentist to see what can be done. Oh, and grats on your book!
book signings and photo shoots at 15? hmmm

i brush and floss and still i have blood in my spit everday and have several cracked or fractured teeth what do i do?
Answer:
whoa. thats sounds pretty bad. u could try medicare in ur area. i believe they will provide emergency medical coverage for ppl with no money. why are ur teeth in such bad condition? whatever u are doing, you should think about stopping.
the blood may be because you brush to hard or not enough
The blood is probably from gingivitis. As for cracked teeth... you need to see a dentist. Look into social services in your area
i take it your job doesn't have dental benefits. if you can't get it through the state you're not going to get it looked at unless you either borrow cash and pay with that or get a credit card for people who have trouble with their credit.
See if there is a dental college in your area. It's great work and at lower prices. Or ask if your dentist takes payments. Some may give you a discount if you pay cash. Good luck!
You need to take care of that problem before it gets worse. You don't need good credit to get this Dental Benefits Plan.It is very affordable and will save you a lot of money. But first go to the web site and check the dentists in your area by typing in the zip code. Once you verify the availability of the dentist, you can sign up on line to get your ID #. You can use the plan immediately. One good thing is, the company gives you a 30 day money back guarantee.Check it out here:http://mybenefitsplus.com/wpaul/...Good luck!

How do I get a better smile?
What is a fast and cheap way to get pretty white teeth? I was thinking about getting porcelain veneers until I herd about how much they cost. So, what could I have done that dental insurance will pay for?
Answer:
A great way to keep your teeth clean and white is to buy Crest Whitening Pro-Health Toothpaste. Try to brush your teeth as many times as you can. And after every time you brush rinse your mouth with Listerene Whitening and you'll have a clean fresh smile =)
Use Crest White Strips. They work verrry well.
Crest whitestrips. Fast and cheap. I'm a former smoker and coffee addict and it always works. Three years and counting. Just go through the entire system as directed. Good luck!
If you were considering veneers you must have a bigger aesthetic issue than simply teeth that aren't white enough. Veneers can be expensive but will change the shape, alignment, size and color of teeth, depending on the aesthetic requirements. However, at around $1000 per tooth (in So. Cal) veneers are not an option for a lot of people. There is a product that is a removable devise that snaps onto your teeth that will also change the shape, size, alignment and color of teeth. It will solve your aesthetic concerns inexpensively and simply but is not a permanent solution.

How do I file down a chipped tooth?
I have a front tooth chipped, and we don't exactly have the funds to go to a dentist and have it cosmetically touched up. Perhaps I'm vain, but appearance means a lot to me. I was thinking about just taking a nail file and just barely filing it down a tad. Just so the edge isn't so prominent. Here are some pictures of it so you can see what I am talking about...
(Not for the squeamish, it is pretty gross getting a close-up on a persons mouth!)
http://i150.photobucket.com/albums/s95/a...
[IMG]http://i150.photobucket.com/al...So, please tell me if it would be okay to slightly file down that edge...best answer gets 10 points!! :D
Answer:
I wouldn't try doing this yourself. I work for a dentist and we don't charge to file down a tooth. Call around and see if there is a dentist in the area that is willing to file this for you without charging much or non at all. Looking at the picture though you will probably need a small bonded filling placed to fix it correctly, but filing it can do for now.
You can get the job with a nail file or any other instrument. But your risk chipping your tooth, or making it sensitive to cold afterwords. The best way is go to the dentist, it shouldn't cost a lot making a job like that.
I would highly recommend against self dentistry. It may seem like a small edge to file down, but it's a tooth, not a nail. A nail file will not do the job. There is a reason why dentists use drills with special bits for filing down teeth, teeth are bone ... which is very hard. You would only frustrate yourself and ruin your nailfile if you tried it the way you are considering. You don't have the tools to file a tooth. It may not be the answer you want, but you should save your money and go talk to a couple dentists about what it would cost to do the job. I think you may find that it is not as expensive as you think, and it will be done much better by a trained professional. You may have to learn to live with the chip in the short term.
Wether it's ok or not would of course be best answered by a dentist (which you stated you aren't going to). But if you had to do it your self you could use a dremmil tool (not sure about the spelling on that). They have different attachments, some less abrassive than others. I would think doing it yourself would NOT be recomended no matter what you used though. Also you better hope you don't have any nerve exposed! OUCH! Personaly, I would call around and possibly find a resonable dentist, especially if your appearence is that important to you (I don't think it would cost much, cause it wouldn't take very long). Best of luck!
MY ADVISE IS TO GO TO A DENTAL SURGEON TO GET IT CORRECTED . IF YOU TRY TO FILE YOURSELF IT WILL LEAD TO 1) POOR ESTHETICS, 2) MOREOVER YOU MAY INJURE THE TOOTH PULP. SO GO TO A DENTAL SURGEON %26gt;%26gt;%26gt;
I can't tell you that this would end in a good result and you could possibly make things worse by attempting such a maneuver but I would suggest at least calling a few different dentists and explaining your situation. It is possible that they would let you make payments or it is just possible that one of them will do it on a charity basis. You will not know until you call so do this at least before doing possible further damage or going completely insane in the attempt and finding you will still need to make an appointment to get it fixed.

How do I deal with bad breath after I got my wisdom teeth pulled?
I got my wisdom teeth removed Thursday. It is now Tuesday, the pain has gone away for the most part but now I am dealing with bad breath. I had all 4 taken out, the top two were out of the gums, so I have holes where I get food stuck but its a lot easier to clean cause I can reach it with my tongue and a q-tip.However, my bottom ones had to be cut into, I can barely even see the hole. If I spread my cheeks wide enough, I can see some red where I believe the incision was made. How do I deal with this bad breath? How do I clean my holes? Will I have to worry about this until the holes fill up?Also, I noticed that all the stitches dissolved Monday night, which is 4 days after the operation. Is this normal?
Answer:
To deal with your holes, gargle with warm salt water. You want to make sure that your holes are clean until they fill in, if not, it may cause an infection. As for the bad breath, scrub the hell out of your tongue, and just make sure those sockets are clean. Stitches dissolving, is normal. A lot of the times its easier on the patient and the doc if the stitches dissolve. Its normal, there are two kinds of stitches (sutures) that i am aware of, the silk, and the gutta. one dissolves and one has to be cut and removed. You'll be ok, just keep the sockets clean! Get well!
Gargle a lot until your mouth is completely healed. The holes will eventually fill in,.
Call your oral surgeon and ask them what is best. I have used salt water,,,slosh it slowly around in your mouth and spit gently.
The dentist should've given you some sort of antiseptic prescription mouthwash, he did for me, and this little squirty tube to get "food" out of your "holes"
Keep rinsing with salt water followed by a mouthwash. Also, pay attention to brushing. Maybe you slacked a bit because of pain.
Rinse with Listerine, it is a very powerful mouthwash that should get rid of any germs that cause bad breath. I don't know about your stitches though, call your doctor.
Eat yogurt often,as it have some gem which can kill other gem that cause bad breath.
well usually a slice of bread helps with the bad breath. with cleaning the holes i really dont know but just make sure you brush twice a day so they clean good. the rest im not sure of. : /
Are you rinsing with warm salty water? Rinse often. That will help. Also an antiseptic mouthwash. You have to keep those areas clean because the last thing you want is an infection.Also...the stitches dissolving is normal. They do eventually fill in, but it is something you have to be aware of for a while.
1 teaspoon baking soda %26 1 teaspoon salt mixed in warm water. Use this as a mouth rinse, it will freshen breath and help with healing.
There is this product called Smartmouth, you can do a google search on it. It comes in mouthwash, gum and toothpaste. Probably the bleeding is making your breath smell badly so that's normal since you did get your wisdom teeth removed. I didn't get mine removed but when they were coming out, I had a lot of bleeding and my breath smelled bad due to that. I don't think you have much to worry about if you are following your doctor's advice to a T. If you feel you have an infection, then you should call your doc immediately. I'm sure you were prescribed antibiotics and mouthwash for that. The holes will fill up with gum tissue so don't worry about that.
try shovin' the brush way back there as long as it doesn't hurt. or brush for like 4-5 minutes, all over the place, including the toung. try some mouth wash, but that gets annoying to keep buying. Brush your toung also. You might just be basically screwed with bad breath, but just try brushing your teeth more. Maybe you just have bad breath in general from being hungry with a dry mouth. ya know. I know some foo's w/ bad breath who never had their's pulled. Bad breath may also be caused by hydrogentated oil.
The stitches dissolved pretty much right on schedule. You should also be brushing your teeth and tongue on a daily basis, at least once a day and preferably two or three. You can also do a gentle swish rinse anytime you need to, and probably after you've eaten. That should help remove any food particles stuck in the spots. You could use an antiseptic mouth rinse, though it might sting the op sites. The redness is normal, it's due to an increased blood supply in the area which needs to be healed. Keep your tongue out of the open spots, though. The mouth is naturally full of bacteria, which don't cause problems unless they get into the gums- and you currently have open spots with welcome mats out. The holes will gradually fill themselves in over the next few months, from the bottom outwards to the top of the gums. Until they have filled enough not to be repositories for food bits, you should continue the swish rinse of your mouth after eating. You can do it with just plain water, and swallow after the swish, it won't hurt a thing if you don't spit it out. Part of the dragon breath could also be due to the blood clots formed as seals over the exposed bone. You don't want to displace those, though, as that's what helps block infection from the jawbone. As the gumline heals, you should notice a lot less problem. Meantime, brush, floss, and swish rinse. And tic-tacs/breath mints are okay in between.
I just had mines taken out about 2 weeks ago. Two impacted and 2 fully out. For bad breath, my doc said to brush your teeth gently. It's going to happens cuz your body's healing. Rinsing with warm salt water after every meal can help dislodge the food and promotes healing. The holes completely heal in about 2 months. My left side stitches fell out on day 3. Then the rest withing 5-6 days. Book a follow-up appt to make sure all is healing well and to dislodge any tiny pieces of food if needed. I still rinse afer every meal and it's been about 2 weeks. Good luck!
hi. i find with any dental problems at all, i can gargle with some hydrogen peroxide and it helps so much. its amazing! the peroxide kills germs and helps with the healing too. when i say gargle, i also mean squish the solution between all of your teeth back and forth about ten times, spit it out then rinse with plain water and repeat it. i do it every morning and every evening. good luck.
A few seeds of cardamom chewed for a brief while will clear your mouth of bad breath. Chew parsley leaves, which are sure to keep your breath fresh. More useful remedies at http://useinfo5.blogspot.com/

How do I cure my loose tooth?
Its been months since my classmate accidentally hit me with his elbow in my mouth.Causing my 4 lower incisors to be loose a little. My dentist told me not to bite on it so i didnt. But its been almost 3 months since that incident and my teeth are still loose! What do I do?I drink milk every night but still nothing happens. Please help :((
Answer:
If your teeth are in braces already they tend to be a little, and I stress a little loose anyway because of what the braces do. Most of the time if someone gets clobbered while wearing braces, braces act like a stabilizer, so another words, having the braces on may have saved you from having any of those teeth knocked out. Lower anterior teeth have small roots and will take time to settle in. Milk is only helpful in the formation of teeth, and there are incidents that if a tooth is knocked out, patients are told to put it in a container of milk until they reach their dental office (same day) this buys some time to hopefully preserve the tooth and be placed back in the socket.
Your dentist is correct.
If you had no braces your dentist could splint the teeth together for added strength until they get more stable. Your dentist may want to keep an eye on these teeth to make sure that somewhere down the road they don't abscess. Teeth can abscess due to trauma as well as decay.
Sorry, I know you didn't want to hear that, but it is better to be prepared and keep an eye on things
pull them out....i'll help!
umm did your dentist say they were going to just be tight again? he/she didnt do anything to press them back in?
call a plumber
don't worry but visit another dentist!!
these are permanant teeth right? you need to go back to the doc. he may need to wire them in place or he may send you to an orthodontist.
1. Go to an Oral Doctor..
2. Kick the **** out of your mate..
3. Find a good lawyer..Hope it helps, haha!

How do I convince my boyfriend to go to the dentist? HELP!?
He constantly has terrible breath (which he denies when I tell him this), and his gums badly bleed often when he brushes. When he sleeps, the bad breath fills the room he is in and I can't stand to sleep there too! He hasn't been to the dentist in 3 years, smokes, and doesn't eat the healthiest.
Answer:
Be very firm with him and tell him he needs to see a dentist--there is no way to beat around the bush--if this is serious then he needs to go now. Tell him the truth--your his girl he will take it best from you.
Threaten to break up with him, and date someone with shiny, pearly white teeth and minty fresh breath. I think Fabio is available at the right price.
dont kiss him or give him any action till he sees the dentist, that will make any man do what he got to do. Tell him he turns you off with that breath
Eeekk! You need to tell him that his lack of hygiene is turning you off and you think he needs to go to the dentist before hes toothless. Scare him a little about him losing teeth for his lack of attention in that department.
if you've already asked him to go to the dentist and he won't, then it's time to take ACTION! if you don't wanna let him go, go without taking a shower for a couple weeks or until he decides he will go to a dentist for you.
gross..my brother had the same problem...honestly though I had to keep telling him that's disgusting, no one wants to kiss someone with bloody gums and bad breath. Ask him if the rolls were switched and you were the one with constantly bad hygiene, would he want to kiss you?
That's horrible. He's probably got severe gingivitis - it can be aggravated by smoking, and that's what's causing the bleeding gums and APPALLING breath.Next time he denies his bad breath, tell him to lick the back of his hand, let it dry then sniff it. Believe me he'll realise the problem. The fact that you're no longer willing to share his bed should be enough to get him to start looking after himself. Try and find the worst pictures you can of gingivitis sufferers on Google. And if he still refuses to see the dentist you might want to reconsider how much you want to be with a guy who you can't even kiss because he's so gross.
Use your power over men - cut him off! Then...tell him how it affects you. This is for his own good. The bad breath is most likely from bacteria in his mouth (hence, the bleeding gums). If he is a rational person, you can share with him that people with bad dental hygiene are more likely to have heart failure. (This is documented.) Bacteria that grow in the mouth, when excessive, find their way into the blood stream and weaken the heart muscle. So if he doesn't want to be around in 10 years or so, then tell him to just keep on with the bad dental hygiene (I assume he doesn't floss or use germ-killing mouthwash).
how about you make appointments for both of you and go together? you could, of course, say its a shopping/restaurant/cinema trip and just kind of drop in to the dentist on your own behalf!
you can even go into the surgery with him and help him get over the fear.
if he's nervous then make sure the dentist knows, they are usually very kind and helpful people.
first of all, that's gross! ya need to put that homeboy in check...or bounce! can you actually stand to kiss him!? he's probably not believing you b/c you're his girlfriend. he may need to hear it from other peers or maybe family members. has his parents noticed it, in particular his mom? i think check-ups with the dentist are like twice a year, right? find him a dentist, make an appointment for him, and make him go! oh, and go buy some glade plug-ins until then. good luck, and tell stank-stank good luck too!
tell him if he wont go you will brake up with him that will work
Why doesn't he want to go to the dentist? Is it because of fear? Or just because he doesn't think he needs to go? I didn't like going to the dentist either - until I found one that does laser dentistry. Now I actually look forward to seeing him! My reason was fear of needles and pain. There are ways to treat dental issues without needles or pain, which makes it less fearful. His bad breath can also be attributed to other things that are not dental - but that's something his doctor and dentist would have to determine. I guess the best way to convince him is to stop sleeping in the same room and tell him that unless he gets help, no more kisses. That did it for my husband - he used to not like to brush his teeth as often as he should. I told him that not only was that gross because of the smell, but it's not healthy. He loves me enough that he has taken great steps to improve his health - and not just his dental health. But your guy shouldn't do it just for you - he should want to be healthy. Dental health is just as important to overall health as eating right and exercising.
tell him straight out to get it fixed or he will be spending all his time alone.
Let him know that the dentist has seen all types of things %26 that his problem will not shock the doctor. encourage him a he should do whats best.
eeeeeeeewwwwwwwwww throw him in the car and take him there!!!!!!
dump him and become a dental hygenist..
Gums bleeding is often a sign of brushing too hard. As for the bad breath, that could very well be a mixture of eating bad and smoking. Make sure he brushes his tongue, as most of the bacteria that causes bad breath are located there. You should make an appointment for both of you and ask him to come along. Tell him you care enough about him to look out for his hygiene. If he understands he'll go.
I had a friend just like your boyfriend. Didn't believe that his breath was horrible! It took people avoiding him to make him get the picture! Perhaps you should just stop sleeping in the same room. Also, no kissing. Keep on telling him that you love him and want to be with him but you can't stand his breath. You should also inform him that there has been a direct link shown between gum disease (periodontal disease) and heart disease! Stress that you worry about his health... oral and physical. Also, mouth cancer is the 6th most common cancer and is usually caught during a routine dental exam.
hopefully u r not kissing him / just be blunt / either go to the dentist / or sleep in other room / no more from me / i am not trying to be funny / /BUT if the smell is that bad /how can u stand to be in same room/ if he does say he will go ./ go with him / i think he may be afraid of dentist / there is a dental disease /that causes gum and teeth bleeding / good luck

How do I become a dental assistant w/out attending a school. Don't any dentist hire assistants w/out?
experience? For the assistants out there. did you go to school to be an assistant? I want to pursue being a hygientist, but I think it's pointless to go to school to be an assistant? It seems like you could pretty much be trained on the job??
Answer:
As a denitst I can tell you that most dentists are always looking for someone who has attended school and has had the formal training, this causes less time the dentist has to train and more time being focused on patient care itself. Good luck with your future career and check around in your area, there may be a dentist willing to let you train on the job.
Usually they want an experianced assistant with an education cuz think of it this way sometimes when u are at the dentist if he is really busy his assistant will do some of the work if u were at the dentist would u want somebody screwing with your teeth who had no clue what they were doing.
Unless you know someone that knows someone you are SOL. In this day and age YES, you have to go to school. For almost everything. I am a medical Asssistant and since I haven't done the job in well over 20 years in order for me to become gainfully employed I have to retrain. Go to school. There is money it that field also. But, you must be a people person. And like your work.
yes you can be trained on the job but the state will not allow you to do xrays, impressions, polishing, etc. about the only thing you can do is clean and sterilize or suction spit. i don't pay too much per hour to an assistant unless she can do these extra duties.i couldn't agree with you more on going on to become a hygienist. you make more than double (upwards of $40 an hour) and you don't clean up after anyone other than yourself. go for it!
I started working at a dental office five days after I graduated high school and I had no experience. I stayed there 6 years. There are some dentists that are willing to train you. We hired a girl that had gone to school for assisting and she said that I knew more than she did when it came to assisting. It is better to have the hands on training.

How do fight bad breath?
-don't tell me to buy anything but you can suggest toothpastes if needed
-home remedies
-don't answer if you'll just do it for 2 points (you are so shallow)
Answer:
Found this at http://www.care2.com/greenliving/three-n...Many plant materials are extraordinary at killing bacteria, and they can help combat gum disease. All three of these plant materials in particular kill bad breath:
clove buds
cinnamon sticks
cardamon seeds Chew, taking care not to swallow.
Brushing your tongue is actually the best way to fight bad breath.
the root cause might be in your stomachbad digestion or in your rotten teeth
Brush your teeth and your tongue. Brushing your tongue is key in this process if you want to be successful.
your tongue should be pink and not white. White means bad breath causing bacteria. Also floss frequently.
You don't really need tooth paste I have found a plain moist tooth brush works better for me when brushing my tongue, cause the bristles get right to it and removes the white bacteria. It can cause you to gag, just be quick 10 - 15 seconds and repeat if needed. Then you can go back and use tooth paste for the taste. The gag is worth it.
Keep hydrated a dry mouth is a stinky mouth.
This should work because you are getting rid of the source of bad breath. Everything else will only mask it.If this doesn't work then seek medical help. Some health conditions can cause bad breath that comes from the stomach and not from your mouth.
Good luck.
First and foremost, stop worrying, this is an easily sorted problem, obviously a checkup with your dentist is advised to see if you have any dental work, gum disease etc that needs attending to, in the meantime try to hydrate as much as is advised daily, maybe give your diet a fresher approach and finally try to keep your mouth and tongue as clean as possible, you should then start reaping the rewards. Hope this is helpful?
-chew on parsley
-eat lemon
-brush tongue
-mouthwash every am/pm
all good answrs above. try chewing on some natural mint leaves. they taste great.
Bad breath is caused by bacteria in your mouth. To control bed breath, you should get regular cleanings (every 6 months), brush at least two times a day, floss regularly (once a day would be nice), and rinse with mouth wash (listerine is best, and they have a new vanilla flavor that doesn't taste so strong). Good luck!
A few seeds of cardamom chewed for a brief while will clear your mouth of bad breath. Chew parsley leaves, which are sure to keep your breath fresh. More useful remedies at http://useinfo5.blogspot.com/

How do dentists determine that a very bad looking teeth can still be saved?
I had a bridge that just fell out and under it my two teeth are very decayed , big holes and ugly looking%26smelling. Both have had root canals previously and have been "worked" out for the bridge. Both look very bad to me and one of them have even an infection with pus , but the dentist said he can treat them with AB and then do a root canal again and a bridge. I rather extract them than come back in a year after paying so much money again for the bridge . He seems very young and I don't know how experienced. What is your opinion?
Answer:
usually they say what will get them the most money and fixing them brigs in more than puling them and replacing them
In my opinion, YOU should get a second opinion. While youth isn't necessarily bad, it can mean a lack of experience, a lack of good judgement, or even someone who is just starting out and is just plain GREEDY. In particular, if this was the dentist who did the first root canals, I would make a beeline OUT of his office and find another dentist. While the enamel might have decayed on the remaining portions of the tooth, the pulp and dentin should have been FULLY destroyed during the first root canals; since you have an infection in those teeth, clearly whoever did them missed something major.
i recently went through a bad experience like you but almost lost my ife when the infection went under my chin.the infection got to the point were i could hardly open mouth, tongue swollen then could hardly breath.had emegency surgery got teeth removed.pull them out he may want the money.
teeth are for the weak
I would get a second opinion. Couldn't hurt. It's my teeth and money after all. =)

How do dentists determine how many sufaces are affected when treating cavity?
i have a mesial cavity on an incisor. in my treatment plan, my dentist wants to charge me for both mesial %26 lingual surfaces. why would she also charge for the lingual surface?
Answer:
On an incisor, unless there is no tooth adjacent to it to allow direct access, the Dr. will need to cut into the tooth from the lingual to reach the mesial decay. Thus you will be charged for a 2 surface restoration. This is the same thing that is charged on a posterior tooth with mesial decay where the Dr. has to cut in from the occlusal to reach the mesial. The dental assistant needs to talk with her employer about this as she's badly misinformed. Sooooo, use your dental floss each day so you don't get interproximal (between teeth) problems!
did they take an xray? or did she find pockets on both surfaces?
That's unusual...if the cavity is only a mesial surface then she can't charge u for 2 surfaces. Unless the cavity is too big but still she should have told you that it is 2 surface filling. Ask her why and if still unsure.get a second opinion.

How do braces get put on? Do they hurt??
I'm getting braces on June 12 and I need to know how the dentist puts them on. I would also like to know if they hurt. Thanks!
Answer:
The dentist attaches the brackets to your teeth with dental cement then fixes these to the wire arch. They don't hurt while they are being put on but they can be painful in the following days when your teeth are readjusting to the forces placed on them by it.
unless things have changed in the last few years. they use a special cement to attach the brackets to your teeth. honestly yes they hurt, alot! might be helpfull to take a couple fo tylenol before you go. and have some on hand all day. that was enough to take care of my pain.
it is worth it in the end, and dont forget to brush alot and do what the orthdontest says.
it hurts a little b/c they put this strechy thing on your mouth b/c they need to get to your teeth better and they dry your teeth off and put this adhesive stuff on..but its not the glue..its just a protective sealant on your teeth, then they use this little heat gun to activate that stuff and then they start putting cement and brackets on... the dr. puts pressure on your teeth when he puts the brackets on but it will be a little painful then here comes the hard part...the wire..it hurts a little..but then they put the rubber bands on..this is a painful part also but youll be okay!! youll get sores on your inner lips..so get some extra wax...it will help
good luck!
they cement little peices of metal to your teeth, it hurts for like 3 days or so when they tighten them periodicly, and if you get hit in the mouth at all expect it to bleed, i still have scars on the inside of my mouth from 10 years ago...

How comes your not allowed to swallow toothpaste?
huh?
Answer:
You might get an upset stomach or perhaps throw up, but probably nothing considerable if it is a small quantity. Dental product manufacturer's advise you not to swallow fluoride due to the fact that excess fluoride will cause white spots to form on your teeth if your teeth are still forming. This means that children who still have baby teeth run the risk of getting white spots on their adult teeth if they routinely ingest high concentrations of fluoride. The white spots may be tiny or large and can have other causes like trauma or a high fever.
Fluoride (in the right concentration) is a very valuable way to reduce dental decay...
JAMRDH- a dental hygienist
huh.!
Who says you can't?
the flouride in the toothpaste is not good for you -- it won't hurt if you swallow a little bit but not a lot -- why do you want to swallow toothpaste anyway??
This is more of an issue for children. The over ingesting of fluoride can lead to fluorsis in the permanent teeth.i.e when the 2nd teeth erupt they will have funny mottling stains on them.
Ditto rach t's answer, it's the fluoride content in toothpaste!
Because it contains fluoride, which is an active ingredient. If children swallow too much it can effect the forming of the enamel on teeth, and cause something called fluorsis which is white or brown flecks. It is like a medication.Qualified Dental Nurse
it is mainly advised that children are not to swallow to much tooth paste the fluoride in the tooth paste can make there adult teeth speckled though very strong, that is why they brought out children's toothpaste that has a lower concentration of fluoride in it.
who says? i ate loads as a kid to freshion my breath, or so i thought.
because it contains small amounts of flourine which is a poison.
if you swallow too much flouride you can get really sick

How come when you have a cavity only sweet things hurt it??
Answer:
Sweet and cold will hurt. Because the decay has caused the sensative part of your tooth (dentin) to be exposed.
Cold and hot things hurt them, too.
they have higher acidic levels. Pretty much they eat through teeth more
How come I brush my teeth twice a day with an electric toothbrush and plaque is still there?
Add anything you think would work or products that are good for your teeth. Thank You
Answer:
It's not only how you brush, but how long you brush. Does your brush have a timer? You need to brush 2-3 minutes. Most people brush less than a minute. Soft brushes are better to use, but take longer to get the stuff off. You also need to change the head of the brush. I usually say around 3 months, but some may need changing sooner.
Floss
You may be due for a hygiene check-up/cleaning. Make sure you are brushing with the correct angle. "Brushing your teeth" is a bit of a misnomer, you are supposed to focus on the junction where your teeth and gums meet. Try more of a 45 degree angle. Mouthwash is always a good idea. It helps freshen the breath and rinse out any stray 'stuff' in your mouth. The new Crest is alcohol-free so it won't burn like the Listerine rinses. And chew gum. There's sugar-free varieties and others that help to keep your teeth clean. But don't rely on the teeth whitening types: they can harm your enamel with long-term use.
Sometimes I think, the tooth business is just like any other problem: genes! Some of us are tall/small, fat/skinny, good teeth, bad teeth.
Surely, you also have heard of people who hardly take care of their teeth, yet have beautiful white healthy ones, as where others, like you, and me, do all they can, yet they still seem to be a problem.
Try to brush after ever meal. I had a similar problem and I know its a pain but I carry a small tooth brush in my purse/car and brush when I can. It reall helps and even though LISTERINE burns they have a bottle that says "keeps teeth whiter and cleaner for up to 12 hours" and trust me that works. Just use 2x a day.
Make sure you're brushing for at least 2 mins. No scrubbing. Let the brush do the work but glide it through all the surfaces. Is the toothbrush head too small or too big for your teeth? That can sometimes be the problem. Use a soft bristle brush. Here's a video on how to brush correctly: http://www.videojug.com/film/how-to-brus...
I use Colgate Total and either Listerine or Act mouthwash. The Colgate Total claim to give you 12 hour protection. I don't know if exactly 12 hours but I do feel cleaner until I eat then I have to brush again. Floss everyday too! Good luck!
