How do you get rid of dark/purple/black gums?

I have yellow teeth and am wondering, how to get rid of the dark gums. Are there any remedies that i can use.
Answer:
I don't think there's anything you can do about your gums, but there are a lot of at home teeth bleaching kits available. Once you whiten your teeth, your darker gums might actually make your teeth seem even more vibrant and glorious!BTW...all you folk who aren't paying attention...I think Jackeeee might be African-American and it's not terribly unusual for African Americans to have darker gums. It doesn't mean they have mouth rot...
ummm sounds like you have a really sever issue and you need to go see the dentist. It could be several issues ie infections, gingavitis, or your teeth are bad. I would suggest getting in to the destist ASAP
From your picture you look black, and all black people have dark gums...duh-BobbiLynn MayPS- So, I guess then that woud be it, I would suggest cutting them out
you need to brush w/ baking soda and peroxide mixed, trust this i have pretty white straight teeth all my life, just everyday mix a capfull of baking soda and peroxide and use as a toothpaste every day, this will work , it will turn your gums pink by getting that icky film of gooo off your gums which will eventually peel off and then this will whiten your teeth as well.good luck..
well if you're dark skinned, then your gums are supposed to be that color. but if you're white/light skinned, then you should get them checked out. because I'm dark skinned(chocolate complexion), and i have really dark brown gums. so it might just be your skin complexion.
As far as I know, the pigmentation in your gums is permanent and cannot be altered. I'm sure the yellow coloring of your teeth make it more obvious. I'd say try a whitening method and that should make the color of your gums less noticeable. My gums are "spotty" with dark colors as well- I'm guessing its genetic because my mom and sis are the same way. My smile isnt wide enough for people to see, but they've always been that way since I was a kid. Try to whiten your teeth to see if that helps. Good luck.
You need to go to a dentist. You probably have periodontal gum disease. If you want to procrastinate on the dentist all you can do is to brush your teeth with a good toothpaste like Colgate or Crest AT LEAST twice a day taking at least 2 minutes usually a circular motion on each tooth as you brush. Also, make sure you floss daily between your teeth.
Your gums are dark because they are unhealthy; its that simple. Your teeth are yellow because of age and/or stains/ lack of brushing.
Unless it is natural pigmentation, that darkness is usually buildup underneath the gums b/c it has been so long since you had a cleaning. Once the buildup goes below the gumline it turns black instead of yellow and as it build the blackness will creep above the gumline. If this is the case, the only way to get rid of it is a cleaning. You are probably going to need a deep cleaning (cleaning below the gum line). It is a more invasive cleaning, sometimes they numb you for it. Otherwise, you will lose the bone that surrounds your teeth slowly until the teeth get loose. You probably already have some bone loss if the buildup is to this point. Go to the dentist before it is too late.
If your gums have always been that color, there's not much you can do. If they've just recently changed colors, I would see the dentist to rule out gum disease or anything that might be irritating your gums. Like a new toothpaste, mouthwash, or smoking. Good luck!

  2. Yeah, my my whole family has pink gums, it comes from taking care of your teeth. If you don't, your gums get dark and so do your teeth. Has nothing to do with race at all... Though a lot of darker black people do usually do have darker gums

  3. All BLACK PEOPLE or DARKER SKIN people DO NOT have dark gums. That is the dumbest thing I've ever read. Idiotic remark. Think before you post.

  5. It depends on your genes as frequently mentioned in the comments. Some families pass it down some do not. No one said all black people have dark gums.
